How to Become an Investor: My Journey – Day 1

In the beginning of this year, I had this business called Atlanta Airbnbs. It was a short term property rental management company.

And it was going to be my best year yet.

I started it in 2016. I’ve grown every year, and we were projected to have a really good year.

And then coronavirus happened.

I found myself in March with zero business. I have lost. All my clients are almost all of them. There’s no, there’s no business. it’s completely dried up.

And, and honestly, between you and me, I don’t think it’s coming back for at least 18 months.

So I found myself in March going, okay, what am I going to pivot to? What am I going to do next?

I’ve been talking for awhile about finding deals and wanting to invest. And I had happenstance sold part of my business, in the end of February, beginning of March.

When my business dried up, I found myself with some extra cash and I’ve always loved investing. I’ve always wanted to pursue it more.

Goodness, when I was, you know, 14, all I wanted for Christmas was a stock from my parents.

So I thought I’d share part of my journey here. I told my business group about it last month, and one of my mentors suggested I start sharing it.

So here we are. You guys get to follow along in my journey of learning about investing and growing.

I’ll share what I do, the mistakes I make and the successes, which will hopefully be more than the mistakes.

Let me know if you have questions and things to read. I’m trying to read as much as possible, and if you have questions, maybe we can figure them out together.

One thing I’ve found is that I know more than I thought I knew. I know a lot more than the average person, and also there’s mostly a lot I do not know.

So that’s kind of where I find myself.

Tada. Here we are. Check back in and you can hear all about it.
