My July 2015 Stitch Fix Review

July 8, 2015 by Talia Bunting 1 Comment

I’m in that awkward stage of post-pregnancy where you’re tired of maternity clothes, they’re a little big, but you’re certainly not back in your normal clothes. They say nine months up, nine months down—I say nine months up, 20 years down. Or at least that’s how long I’m sure it will take me.

Seriously, my body seems to think when I’m nursing, it needs to go into starvation mode and hang on to every little bit of fat because WHAT IF WE DON’T GET ENOUGH CALORIES TO FEED THE BABY. Trust me body, that is not going to be your problem. The hollandaise sauce I’ve recently discovered will see to that.

All of that to say, I’ve gotten a few Stitch Fixes in the last few months trying to find some in between sizes. Here’s the latest. Tell me what you think (also, I apologize in advance for the graininess of most of the photos—my pictures were crap so I was forced to collect from instagram!)

Bancroft Trisha Clover Charm Layering Necklace ($32)

Positives: It’s pretty. Negatives: It felt a little cheap. I hate purchasing things that fall apart after a couple of wears. I would rather spend more money and have it last. Also I felt like this would be a good layering necklace (on account of that’s what it’s called) but I don’t really have any other necklaces to layer with it.

Dear John Finnegan Roll Cuff Short ($58)

Positives: Love the dark color. Stretchy. Negatives: Slightly small. I can button them, however they’re too small to be flattering for the time being, unless one enjoys flattering cellulite. In which case they’re incredibly flattering. But I love the look so much I’m going to keep them until they do fit. Also I need bottoms. Bad.

Market & Spruce Bianca Embroidery Detail Knit Tank ($48)

It’s the pink horizontal striped one in this picture with the embroidery around the neckline.

Positives: I like the embroidery. Negatives: It was made of cotton and felt like a running around shirt. I don’t really need a running around shirt. It hung on my body weird. On the flip side I really like that crotched white and blue looking top in the picture. Also the wallet. Also the tote. Okay fine I’ll have the earrings too.

Skies are Blue Moraga Cut Out Detail Blouse ($48)

Positives: It’s interesting, I like the fabric (which was a business shirt type feel). Negatives: Wasn’t as long as I would have liked. While the cutouts were interesting, I ultimately decided I didn’t like them.

Everly Norma Lace Dress ($74)

Positives: It’s interesting. Negatives: Not the kind of interesting I really like. I’m not big into polka dots. Also, didn’t even remotely fit (again, on account of all the calorie hoarding my body’s doing). Also, I can’t find anyone else wearing this dress ANYWHERE on the internets. But, it’s a pink polka dotted lace dress, so you’ll have to trust me that it was interesting and cute on someone, just not me.

What do you think?

*If you sign up using my referral link, I do get a credit, but I really recommend Stitch Fix. It’s a box of clothes once a month, what’s not to love??
